Multiple new masonry walls were constructed in order to enclose the property. Sections of the existing wall were removed and damaged portions replaced. Shaped brick column caps were reclaimed and used in the new construction. Areas that had settlement cracking due to the growth of trees that were close to the footing were reconstructed using steel lentils. With the new wall raised the growth of the trees was not an issue. Specialty colored black mortar was used for this project. |

The existing retaining wall was failing. Imagine Brick removed the existing wall and footing. Working directly with the homeowner we complete a design that not only complemented the landscape but also was structurally sound. Extensive grading was done to redefine the space and stop any drainage problems. The wall and footing was constructed using steel rebar and the wall filled solid with mortar. Upon completion the homeowner was pleased with the design and had a structure that would last. |

The homeowner had replaced the original wooden fence one too many times. Masonry columns were built to support the new wooden sections. The masonry columns will greatly strengthen the new privacy fence and will not have any need to be replaced in the future. The columns also make this homeowners' fence different from those around it. |

This project was constructed in the downtown Charlotte First Ward section. The homeowners sought privacy in an urban environment. The new wall was constructed directly between two adjoining homeowners. The addition of larger openings in the wall allowed for air movement and a feeling of openness in the enclosed space. |

This wall collapsed due to improper construction. The wall fell at night during a rainstorm, awaking the homeowners. Water had accumulated behind the wall with no place to escape. The debris was removed and materials set in place for construction. The wall was completed the following day. Note the weep holes for water drainage at the base of the new wall. These were also implemented in other walls on the same property to prevent damage before it could occur. |

This job is located in Charlotte's Historic district and was pre-approved before construction. There were many parts to this makeover. We constructed a drive with basket-weave pattern using tumble paver brick to mimic the older structures and architecture in the area. The original drive was gravel; we removed this and graded to allow a better incline and use of space. We repaired a damaged area at the entrance steps with stone. The stone was designed and cut to fit in pattern. We replaced an original wooden fence with a brick wall completely surrounding the property. The walkways provide an elegant private side garden in the space-challenged downtown propery. The walkways are accented by the fountains which were designed by the homeowner. |

We needed to demolish and rebuild the existing retaining wall. The old wall was only a single 4" course thick and was suffering. The new wall was 8" and we used the old material as backing for the new fascia of the wall. This provided a much sturdier product with minimal additional material costs. |
